While it is a Christmas tradition to decorate a tree that you purchase from a lot, this year, try something different. Decorate a beautiful tree that grows outside your home front door. Christmas would not be the same without the traditional decorated tree in your living room, but it's better for the tree and the earth to let the tree stand where it's been growing for years and decorate it in its place. The old-growth tree has a better chance of continuing its life span if it remains untouched and unscathed. It will be a beautiful artistic decoration that adds colour and shine to your home and your neighbors will probably appreciate the innovative originality.
The best decorations to use are made from organic, non-toxic, and earth-friendly sustainable materials. Use LED lights for house and Christmas tree lighting - LED (Light Emitting Diode) Holiday lights use up to 95% less energy than larger, traditional holiday bulbs and last up to 100,000 hours when used indoors. Outdoor Mini-lights will also save energy. Use your creativity to make your own organic earth-friendly decorations or use items you have that contain earth-friendly sustainable material. Gingerbread cookies and homemade Christmas cards are good examples. Homemade gingerbread cookies add an artistic festive energy to your Christmas tree. When it's time to remove the decorations, you can store the homemade cards in a drawer for the next Christmas and eat the delicious Gingerbread cookies. There is no pollution. Nothing gets wasted and nothing gets tossed in the garbage to add to the toxic landfill space. That's a win/win way to celebrate an organic green Christmas.
