Earth-Friendly Non-Toxic Sunscreen

A popular favorite summer activity is sunbathing and swimming in the ocean at the beach. The hot sun can be very oppressive and it is very easy get a sunburn and suntan after only 30 minutes of exposure. It's important to wear a strong SPF - Sun Protection Factor - to protect yourself and your skin from harmful UVA/UVB sunrays. The accumulated years of environmental degradation and global warming have had a tremendous impact on the ozone layer and our vulnerability to damage from the sun has increased. That said, there's no reason to use harsh chemically laden fragrance products to achieve the necessary protection.

It's easy to get the same necessary protection from products that contain only pure organic plant essences and plant essential oils. Jojoba, aloe, shea butter, green tea, milk thistle, grapeseed, chamomile, and Vitamin E are wonderful plants that provide effective protection from the sun. PABA or para-aminobenzoic acid is a key natural ingredient in organic natural sunscreen products. Some organic herbal sunscreen products may or may not contain water-resistant ingredients. To be on the safe side, if you have very sensitive skin and eyes, it's important to thoroughly rinse your hands before you make contact with your face. This also applies if you've been in the pool or the ocean. The above information also applies if you want to use an organic sunless tanning product. There are plenty of natural plant-essence products for sunscreen and sunless tanning. There's no reason to suffer through the summer by poisoning your body with needless harmful chemicals. Educate yourself and read the ingredient label. Those extra few minutes could save your wallet and your health.
