Peace and quiet are two things that are rapidly disappearing from our world and are taken for granted. This world has become very noisy and it seems to be a real challenge to escape it. But unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to escape it altogether. This world is truly addicted to noise in every form. People cannot seem to get through the day without having some form of audio stimulus, whether it's blaring the car radio in traffic, listening to a loud mp3 player with maximum volume or having loud racecars speed by them on a racetrack. There are also the frequent commercial airplanes that create terrible jet blast. Lawn mowers, city workers banging and drilling, and metropolitan mass transit buses are major contributors to noise pollution. With millions of people running around and living on top of each other in the big city, noise is inevitable. The only way to have a peaceful conversation without yelling at each other is to stay home or meet in a quiet intimate setting.
Studies have shown that noise can lead to degenerative disease, including high blood pressure. People who suffer from nervous disorders, heart disease, and severe stress become severely ill when exposed to intolerable loud noise. This is why many people gravitate toward healing and spiritual health retreats for solace and relaxation. People go to these healing retreats to recharge their battery and enjoy natural sounds, like birds, crickets, and waterfalls. Protect your health from noise bombardment. Strive to be in quiet places that will keep your heart calm and relaxed, where it's conducive to peaceful conversation. Silence is a virtue. The best way to enjoy and preserve it is to create peaceful quiet environments that are conducive to productivity, creativity, and joy.
