Scented Candles - Not So Healing

A popular favourite people use for aromatherapy, healing meditation, and romance is scented candles. Lit scented candles are wonderful for creating positive healing energy and spreading healing pleasant aromatherapy throughout the air. Scented candles come in various sizes, colours, and scents. The problem is that most scented candles are scented with toxic adulterated fragrance that contains more than 5,000 petro-chemicals not regulated by the FDA. These fragrance chemicals contain phthalates, a known toxic substance used to make plastics that irritates the lungs and is a known carcinogenic. The candle contains paraffin wax, a popular cheaply produced substance that's derived from petroleum crude oil. A scented candle may contain a natural plant essence pure essential oil or two, like ylang ylang or eucalyptus, but once the toxic petro-chemical phthalate is added to the natural plant oil, the candle is now toxic.

It is totally nonsensical and absurd to add a toxic unhealthy needless chemical to something beautiful, natural, and healing, yet due to the addiction to fragrance, companies do this everyday. If the candle contains a colour dye read the label and make sure that the dye is made and derived only from pure plant essences. FD&C synthetic colour dyes are derived from toxic coal tar crude petroleum. That is another toxic substance that gets inhaled into the lungs and bloodstream. A safer healthier more sensible approach is to use a candle that's made from soy, jojoba, or hemp. These waxes are all safe, natural, plant-derived, biodegradable, and non-toxic. The scented candle should only contain pure organic natural essential oils from plants, nothing else.
