Warm Your Body, Mind, and Spirit This Winter Season with a "Steamed Soy"

soy.jpgThe Holiday Season is a time of stress for many people. It's also a time of anguish and emotional turmoil for many people, especially during the colder months when the days get shorter and the cold chill is in the air. A great way to keep your immune system healthy during this stressful Holiday Season and keep your nerves, mind, and Spirit on a calm even keel is to nourish your health with warming soothing meals. Winter is a time when our health is most vulnerable and it's important to eat those foods that keep us well and healthy. During the colder Winter months, it's a good time to eat meals and drink beverages that are warm, pungent, and help us to relax.

In Ayurveda, the Ancient Indian Sanskrit Medical System, many people gravitate toward foods that are Sattvic and calming in nature. A very popular Sattvic drink that warms the body and soul and calms the nerves is what's called, "a steamed soy". With this delicious hot beverage, you bring 2 cups of organic soymilk to a rapid boil until it foams. The healthiest tastiest soymilk is Whitewave organic Very Vanilla Soymilk. Pour the soymilk into a cup and while it's steaming hot, you add 2 to 3 sprinkles of fresh ginger powder, 2 to 3 sprinkles of fresh cinnamon powder, and 2 to 3 sprinkles of fresh nutmeg and allspice powder. You then mix it well until it's thoroughly blended and mixed. This wonderful drink can help put anyone's body, mind, and Spirit at ease and will help you to stay warm, calm, and relaxed on those chilled nights and mornings.
